Frequently Asked Questions

How much CBD should I take?

We encourage users new to CBD to start out with a lower dosage and build up as necessary. Below are two dosage routines for different  CBD goals. CBD works best when used consistently, so we recommend sticking with the same routine for at least 5 days before altering your dosage.

For daytime stress management:

  • 1/2 dropper (.5ml) in the morning (Regular: 15mg/0.5ml, Extra Strength: 25mg/.5ml)
  • 1/2 dropper (.5ml) in the afternoon (Regular: 15mg/0.5ml, Extra Strength: 25mg/.5ml)

For help winding down before bed:

  • 1 full dropper (1ml) at bedtime (Regular: 30mg/1ml, Extra Strength: 50mg/1ml)

How do I take CBD?

To start, place the oil under your tongue with the dropper. Hold the oil under your tongue for 60 seconds, then swallow. Most of the oil should be absorbed. Everyone’s body metabolizes CBD differently, and the time it takes to see results varies. Starting low, assessing how you feel throughout the day or night, and adjusting accordingly is the best way to find the perfect amount for you.

Is CBD legal?

Yes! The Federal Farm Bill (the Agricultural Act of 2018) legalized the production and sale of hemp bred with 0.3% or less THC. The industrial hemp plants we use in our products meet that requirement, and our full-spectrum, whole-flower hemp CBD products are completely legal in all 50 states.

Will taking CBD products make me high?

Nope, not even if you drink a whole bottle of our oil. Our industrial hemp is bred to contain less than 0.3% THC, so it won’t get you high or make you feel stoned. Most people simply feel relaxed, not sleepy, with our products. We recommend starting off by trying our CBD products in the evening, just in case you find yourself ready to head to bed earlier than usual.

Will CBD show up on a drug test?

That’s a tough one. Everyone’s body chemistry is different, so we don’t know for sure how your body will metabolize our products. Think of it like consuming alcohol. the more you ingest at a time, the more likely it will be detected in your body. While it is uncommon for people to test positive given the very low THC content in our products, it can happen, particularly if you are taking high doses over an extended period of time. If you’re worried, grab an over-the-counter THC test at your local pharmacy to find out for sure.

Can I use CBD with alcohol?

CBD and alcohol combined in moderation are fine. You may notice you do not crave alcohol as much while taking CBD routinely.

What side effects are possible when taking CBD?

At the beginning of their CBD routines, some people reported slight headaches and stomach discomfort. But, with routine or dosage adjustments, these side effects should subside.

Will CBD make me sleepy?

CBD works to support your own body, so it does not inherently make you sleepy. Instead, it interacts with your body’s chemistry. If you take it in the evening as your body is winding down, it can assist your body in preparing for sleep. Conversely, in the morning, as your body begins the process of waking up, it can assist there as well. If, at any point, you find yourself more tired than normal we recommend you adjust your dosage.

What’s the difference between full spectrum, broad spectrum, and CBD isolate?

Full-spectrum CBD contains more than just CBD. It includes many other cannabinoids and terpenes (including trace amounts of THC) that combine to create an “entourage effect” of compounded benefits, activating the CBD for best efficacy in the body.

Broad-spectrum CBD is similar to full-spectrum except it does NOT contain any THC whatsoever. It is not recommended unless someone absolutely cannot have THC in their bloodstream.

Isolate is just what it sounds like: pure CBD, stripped of all the other chemical compounds. The removal of these other compounds means no entourage effect and noticeably reduced efficacy.

How and where should I store my CBD?

We recommend storing your oil in a cool, dry, and dark place. The main thing to keep in mind is to avoid direct sunlight with your oil. If you follow these tips your oil may last up to 18 months.

Can I use CBD while pregnant and nursing?

Unfortunately, pregnant and breastfeeding women are always the last group to be studied in clinical trials, so there’s very little data as to whether or not CBD can be used during pregnancy. The absence of data leaves us unable to fully answer your question. For most women it comes down to whether CBD is helping them manage stress or reduce the amount of pharmaceuticals they’re taking. Ultimately, it is a personal choice and an important discussion to have with your doctor.

Can I use CBD with my medications?

CBD and some medications can interact with the same liver enzymes, so we always encourage you to speak with your doctor whenever adding CBD into your routine. A good rule to follow is if your medication says to avoid grapefruit, you should use CBD with caution.

I think I’m having an allergic reaction. What should I do?

Stop using your products immediately and contact your doctor.

Should I tell my doctor I’m taking CBD?

Yes. It’s always a great idea to keep your entire wellness team in the loop when you’ve added a new product to your routine, including CBD.

I have a dietary restriction or allergy – where can I find ingredients for your products?

Ingredients can be found on every individual product page, our product boxes and bottle labels. Our products contain Premium Hemp Distillate, coconut-derived MCT oil, and all natural flavors. Our products DO NOT contain fillers, dyes, preservatives, or additives. While the MCT oil we use is coconut derived, allergies tend to be triggered by the proteins in coconuts. Once distilled into MCT oil, most people don’t have a reaction. Our products are vegan and gluten-free.
